"Always exceed the clients` expectations."
-- Anthony N. Mougianis

Job Title: President, Alexander The Great, Steubenville, Ohio

Responsibilities: Motivating and managing great people to perform greatly.

Number of Employees: Supervises 10 people.

Experience: I became involved in the industry 16 years ago in my brother-in-laws family owned carpet cleaning business. In 1986, I saw a tremendous opportunity in the restoration of acoustical ceilings, thus creating Alexander The Great Distributing. Over the years, we have established a strong network of professionals throughout the U. S. and Canada. We are entering the foreign markets and have seen a tremendous growth of interest there.

Biggest Challenge: Fighting the old 'bait and switch' tactics that, unfortunately, still exists in our industry. So many people have been misled in the past that we fight an uphill battle in order to gain their trust and respect. However, the reward of working through that and retaining a client is so well worth it!

Management techniques: Selling is everything! Employees need incentive as well as a lot of coaching to attain lofty goals. Our staff understands that people buy from people they like and trust, so we stay in constant touch with our clients just to see how they are doing. This establishes a base of friendship and trust. Everyone shares responsibility which allows every one to win!

Business Philosophy: Be honest and fair to people and they will be friends for life. Always exceed the clients expectations through hard work and sincerity.

Professional achievements: Being able to take an idea and share it successfully with many people, helping to change their lives for the better.

Words of wisdom: I am so proud to be part of the cleaning industry! It is so gratifying to see your efforts help so many people. I am fortunate in that I am living my dream every day."

My advice to others entering the business: Take the time to educate yourself. Participate in seminars and schools, listen to great success stories. Never, ever quit. Always stay consistent and persistent. Think big, set lofty goals and never settle for anything less. Attack fear. Do not allow fear of failure or fear of success to alter your plan. Decide what you want. And finally, take action. Don't put it off, do it now, stay committed to do whatever it takes to achieve your goals!
